Happy Birthday!

So Joel turned the big 3-0 this month. I had the day off so we headed out to an afternoon movie. Afterwards we went to lunch at our favorite place--JCWs. Joel had to go back to work for a little while, so Jenna and I went gift shopping. I asked Jenna what we should get and she answered "a red one!". Later as we were shopping, she was determined that daddy needed a bright pink shirt. With matching shorts. And a matching tie. Anything pink, daddy needed. We ended up just getting him a shirt and tie (neither of which were pink). Jenna picked out a Kung-Fu Panda card (it was better than the fishy one that said "So glad you're 4" that she picked out at first) that she quickly confiscated after giving it to Daddy. The next day we went to Outback for dinner but didn't eat much because we had just gotten done celebrating Grandma's 90th birthday with a lunch with the family.

On Monday we celebrated with Joel's family. Dave had us over for a "chip party". He had a load of bark delivered and needed help laying it so the Harrison's and April's family went over to help then have a weinie roast. When it was all done we had cheesecake to celebrate Joel's birthday. I was having some serious growing pains all day so I wasn't much in the party mood. The cheesecake was good, though.

Joel always says that he doesn't want a big fuss for his birthday, but I don't know how true that is. Sorry it was kind of another lame birthday, hon!

Like I said earlier, we celebrated Grandma's 90th birthday a couple of weeks ago. We went to Salem pond and had lunch. The weather was a little chilly, but not too bad. The kids had fun playing in the park, feeding the ducks, and watching the fishermen. Jenna was the only one who dared go in the water. The water was actually pretty warm but I think the other kids were just preoccupied with everything else.

Feeding the ducks. Later she wanted to feed them rocks. They didn't like that very much.
