Misc

Sorry about all the posts. I just had lots of pictures I wanted to show off.

I also wanted to update you on Jenna's new words. She has added: apple, hello, eye, and I know to her vocabulary.

Should we change this to just "Jenna's blog"? She's all we ever talk about. I guess we kind of like her!

Easter

The Easter Bunny was good to Jenna!

Hmmm....what is this movie about?

Jenna put Easter grass ALL over the house. We can't get it all up.

Isn't she cute? The pictures don't do her justice.

Jenna didn't take a nap until we went to the Harrison's for dinner.

Joel's Grandma Harris surprised us and was there for Easter dinner. She had been in Idaho for her sister's funeral and came down to Utah for a few days.

What a good looking bunch.

Easter egg hunt

Jenna's day care had an Easter egg hunt on Friday. I had the day off so I went to watch. Joel took off work for a little while, too. Jenna didn't really get it, but she really liked the candy that she found!

This is Jenna with her best friend, Izzy. Jenna is ready to go outside for the hunt while Izzy finishes her snack.

Of course Jenna had to get the egg hidden on the basketball stand! (I wonder who pointed that one out to her)

Open it!

Park

We've been going to the park a lot lately. It is really nice to have one so close. The weather has been ideal for going to the park.

First day of Spring

We went outside the other night because it was so nice outside. Jenna had so much fun! She kept taking the dirt from our garden and putting it on the patio. The next night we went out again and there was a pile of dog poo in the garden where she was taking the dirt from. Talk about gross.

Fun with dinner

If I turn the cup upside down and hit it on my plate, water will come out.

Splash, splash, splash. It is so much fun to push the water around!

After dinner the other night, I turned around to find Jenna putting water all over her tray and pushing it everywhere. By the time she was all done there was water everywhere. I then had to give her a bath where she proceeded to splash water all over once again. At least the water from the tub wasn't brown from leftover food.

Come on people!

There are 2 days left to vote on my awesomeness. All votes are confidential.

Jenna is going in to get her ears tested again tomorrow...wish her luck!!

More Please!

We had brownies for dessert tonight.

Here is Jenna begging for more.

Here is Jenna asking for more. She is learning sign language at day care. It is so cute to see her do signs!
Jenna did a couple of funny things today. She was lying down with me trying to go to sleep when she leaned over and blew a zerbert on my arm. It was the funniest, and wetest, thing ever! We both kept cracking up. Needless to say she didn't go to sleep.
Tonight we were at Grandpa Dave's house and I was changing her diaper in the bathroom. I stood up to wash my hands and she ran over and started to play in the toilet. It was gross, but funny. It was also a journal moment since it was the first time she's done it. I am sick, aren't I?
Well, that's about the only exciting things that have happened to us this week. Maybe this week will be more exciting. Oh--by the way, Joel mentioned that he cleaned the microwave last week because I was just so impressed. He wanted everyone to know. Our microwave was absolutely disgusting. Joel doesn't believe in covering anything when you put it in the microwave. Anyway, I came home one day and it was spotless! I kept opening it just to look at it. It still kind of freaks me out when I open it and it's clean. Anyway, just thought I would explain his post.

I Am Awesome

I cleaned the microwave.

Uh-oh

I forgot to mention that Joel now knows my password to this blog, so I apologize in advance for anything he may write/do.

Nothing Special

It's been a busy week, filled with nothing special.

Jenna went to the doctor again to have her ears checked. This was the third try to get her hearing checked after getting tubes. The first time they sent us away because she had an ear infection. A week later we had to re-schedule because she had yet another ear infection. She finally made it a week without an ear infection and went in to the doctor. Unfortunately she failed the test. Apparently they didn't have the right tests available for kids with tubes so she gets to go back once again to see a specialist. Guess what, though? She has another ear infection! Her appointment isn't until the 26th so I guess she has some time to get over it.

If you couldn't tell by the way things were worded above, I wasn't able to go to Jenna's last doctor appointment. I had to work. I have been taking so much time off for her doctor appointments, my dentist appointments, and my eye appointments that I couldn't take the morning off to take her. I felt guilty about it all day. I don't understand how people do it--work and family. It's tough! I am so ready to just quit, but I can't quite yet. It sucks.

This weekend was fun, but uneventful. Jenna and I hung out Friday night. She helped me do laundry. She was funny. She helped by taking socks out of the dryer one and a time. We have a lot of socks. It took like 20 minutes. It didn't matter, though, because it was fun. She was so proud of herself.

Saturday Jenna and I went to Roberts to look for some scrapbook stuff. She wanted to touch everything! I left the store sweating! Later in the afternoon we went Easter dress shopping for her. We picked out a super cute little pink dress. I can't wait to see her in it. I got a little shrug to go with it because I figured Easter would be chilly. She wore it on Sunday and I just wanted to eat her up she looked so cute! She is turning in to such a big girl! After Easter dress shopping we went to Kid to Kid. I have never been there, but I love the store already. It's a place where parents can sell their "gently used" kids clothes. We got a couple of pairs of pants for $3 each. It's a great place to get the few things we still need after Jill and RaShelle gave us all of their hand me downs.

Sunday Joel and I taught our class again. It's getting a little easier for me. I ended up teaching the whole lesson while Joel took care of Jenna. The lesson was on nurturing love and friendship. It was a good lesson, although one section was pretty uncomfortable. You can probably figure out what that section was about. I think I was the only uncomfortable one though. People are pretty open these days, aren't they?

Now that I look back at it, it doesn't seem like I've done much this week. Not enough to excuse myself for sending Halle's birthday card several weeks late or not calling Brian for his birthday (Happy Birthday, Brian!). Sorry about that everyone!

Saturday is a Special Day

I know I said I probably wouldn't keep this blog updated, but I have been addicted this week. I am sure life will soon get in the way and I won't be able to post anything very often.

Anyway, we went to Josh's baptism this morning. Well, kind of. Joel always thinks that he can make it anywhere in record time so we left a little later than I would have liked. We got on 215 and missed our exit, but we were talking and Joel was busy weaving around cars so we didn't even notice until we were to like 33rd South. We were finally able to get off the freeway at like 4th South, but ended up taking Redwood all the way down. It look forever. We showed up just after Josh was baptized. Then we went to another room to watch him be confirmed. About 30 seconds into the confirmation, Jenna freaked out and did not want to be in that room. So we went out into the hall until everything was over. I didn't get to see anything.

We went over to Kevin's house afterwards and had lunch. It was really nice. There was tons of good food. It was fun to see everyone for a little while, especially with Mom & Dad leaving in a couple of days. I got thinking on the car ride up that I hadn't been to Kevin's house since before Jenna was born. I hadn't seen Kyle since Thanksgiving. I guess we just don't get together that often. Anyway, back to the party. Jenna had a blast. She loved playing the piano, playing with the girls, and mostly, playing with the girls toys. She hated talking to the adults. She wanted nothing to do with any of them. She just wanted to get back to playing. Toward the end, she did show Kyle her belly and gave a generic wave good-bye to anyone who was looking, but that was about it.

We had a lot of good intentions of getting some things done this afternoon but just ended up going to the gym. We go seperately so I takes several hours for both of us to go. Joel played basketball while he was there and thinks he broke his thumb. He is trying to use that as an excuse to not teach tomorrow. He's not getting out of it.

Sydney wouldn't smile. She said she was sad because she missed her Mom.
Sammy is getting so big! She is funny because she tries so hard not to smile when you ask her to.

Ellie is always so good with Jenna.

Jenna LOVED this chair!

Bekah was kind enough to play with Jenna for a few minutes. Jenna loved it!

Uh, oh. Does this mean she is going to want to take piano lessons when she is older?
