Let's go Flash!

Jenna and the FlashFox.

We went to the Utah Flash game tonight We have season tickets because it is a nice cheap date. The games are usually pretty fun but this one was really fun. When we showed up we realized that they were having some sort of special deal where you could get free or discounted tickets so there were a TON of people there. These tickets allowed you to sit anywhere in certain sections. The section where our seats are was one of those sections so our seats were taken by the time we got there. We took the liberty of upgrading our tickets :) They were only a few rows closer, but much better seats. We sat there for the whole first half. We kept looking over our shoulders because there was a guy going around checking tickets. We got lucky enough that he never checked our tickets.
Right before half time these guys walked by us and asked us if we wanted to sit court side. They were leaving and wanted to give their tickets to someone. So we moved to nearly center court on the floor. It was awesome! The atmosphere down there was so different than being in the nose bleed section.
We were afraid Jenna would want to walk onto the court but she did so well. She danced to the music, clapped when everyone else clapped, and waved at the fox (the mascot) every time she saw him. We were relieved that we didn't have to worry about her.
The game went to overtime after we hit a last second three pointer. It was so exciting. The Flash ended up winning.
After the game we stuck around for a few minutes. The fox came over and Jenna got her picture taken with him. Isn't the picture funny? She just starred at him. She was so excited to see him from a distance, but from up close she was a little freaked out.
Well, Jenna is still awake and it is 11:00. The game must have riled her up. I better attempt to put her to bed.

Girl's Night!

Jenna, Monkey and Blanket

Joel went to the Jazz/Pistons game tonight so it was girl's night at our house. Jenna and I went and grabbed some dinner and came home and ate...and ate...and ate. Jenna is a little porker these days. She can really pack it in. The only problem is she is a really slow eater. She must take after her Grandpa T. After dinner we put on some music and sang and danced. Then my visiting teachers came over. Of course Jenna was the center of attention. She showed off for them the whole time they were here. That must have worn her out because she was ready for bed by the time they left. I don't understand her, though. She can be so tired, but she freaks out whenever I put her in bed. I know that that's the way most kids are but it's really annoying. It just took me almost 45 minutes and 4 tries to put her to bed. She's a little stinker. I was surprised that she actually did go down though. Her teachers at day care said she took a two hour nap today. She never does that. She usually takes like a half hour nap maybe. She even slept on a mat like the big kids. She is growing up so fast.

Jenna is so weird sometimes. She loves to be naked. When we get home at night, she tugs at her clothes and just wants them off. If she had it her way, she would take her diaper off, too (hence the low-ride diaper in the picture). Sometimes she will put on her shoes and coat while naked. I hope she grows out of this phase.

She is getting so big! She is starting to say some words. Yesterday she said her name. It came out "nena" but you could tell it was supposed to be "Jenna". She can say puppy, owl, bye-bye, hi, Grandpa, Daddy and some other things I can't remember right now. She really likes to walk around saying "mama" constantly. It gets kind of annoying, but it's still cute.

We took her to the doctor on Friday to get a hearing test/follow up from getting her tubes. They couldn't check her hearing because she has yet another ear infection! If she doesn't stop getting ear infections, I think we are going to have to sell her (kidding!)

Joel and I started our class today at church. We are teaching the Marriage and Family Relations class. It should be pretty good. Everyone in the class loves to make comments so I think we only gave 1/20th of the lesson we prepared. It's interesting to hear what everyone has to say, though. Jenna freaked out about 10 minutes into the class because she was so tired. I took her out in the hall and pawned her off on someone. I think we'll have to find a babysitter for Sunday School for the next two months until she goes into nursery.
