This week's update

So Jenna went to the doctor last week like Joel mentioned earlier. What a waste of time. She was going for a hearing test. They ran the same test on her that they did last time. Last time she failed in her right ear and passed her left. This time it was the opposite. They gave the same reasoning--that the tubes open her ears up so much that her breathing could get in the way of the test and give a false fail. What a joke. We think she is fine.

Last weekend Joel's company had a leadership conference up at the Airport Hilton. He had to stay up there Friday night, so Jenna and I went and joined him. I left work a little early, went and picked up Jenna and headed up to the hotel. We got there just as the conference was finishing up for the day. We hauled in all of our crap (we had a lot of "necessities" for a 24 hour trip), then headed into Salt Lake for dinner. We went to the Crown burger down by the Energy Solutions Arena. I had never been there and Joel wanted me to check it out. We didn't realize that there was a Jazz game that night. Aparently if you spend so much there, you get free parking for the Jazz game. It was packed! You had to hover over tables in order to get one. It was not my style. The food was good, but the crowd was a little much.

After dinner we headed back to the hotel and hung out for a little while. The activity for the night was go kart racing. So we got together with all of the conference attendees and headed back to SLC. Go kart racing was a lot of fun. We had to divide into 4 groups of about ten. Joel was in the first group and had a blast. Each group drove for about 30 minutes. By the time it was my groups turn (I was in the fourth group) it was 10:30. I was so tired! The rest of the people in the group were tired too, so we only drove for about 15 minutes. It was a lot of fun. Jenna stayed up nearly the whole time. She was the hit of the show. Everyone loved her. She loved waving "hi" to everyone.

On Saturday, Joel got up early and headed for the conference. Jenna and I hung out in the room for a little while. We then went and listened to some of the speakers for a little while. I then took Jenna swimming. I didn't want to change my clothes, so we just stood on the steps. That's all she wanted to do anyway. A couple of her cousins were there and tried to take her out a little deeper but she didn't want anything to do with that.

After swimming we went out in the back of the hotel and played with the ducks at the pond they had. Jenna loved chasing them. They had no fear, so they let her. She was so excited!

Jenna and I finally left to go home around 1:00. All in all, we had a great time. We had to come home and take a long nap.

Well, we just found out that Joel's aunt is in town, so I better go.
